Hogrefe Open Access Journals Now Indexed in Prestigious Directories

We are pleased that two of our fully open access journals, Psychological Test Adaptation and Development and European Journal of Psychology Open are now indexed in Scopus and in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) – two of the most coveted databases for authors and publishers intent on maintaining ethical and quality articles. Scopus is the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed research literature, and DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high-quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. Together, these indexing databases elevate our open access journals to a higher standard, and provide our contributors with the prestige and recognition their work deserves.

Hogrefe Open Access Journals

Our journals Psychological Test Adaptation and Development and European Journal of Psychology Open are all fully open access, and publish only peer-reviewed, original research articles.

Psychological Test Adaptation and Development (PTAD) is the official open access journal of the European Association of Psychological Assessment (EAPA), with contributors living around the world. PTAD is the first open access, peer-reviewed journal publishing papers that presents the adaptation of tests to specific needs, simple test translations, or the development of existing measures of psychological assessment. The journal’s editors have created a focus on the psychometric quality of these measures, which is reviewed in every article.

The European Journal of Psychology Open (EJPO) is the official open access empirical journal of the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA). EJPO is an open access, peer-reviewed journal publishing innovative, original, and high-quality empirical papers from all fields of psychology. The journal aims to promote modern open science practices and publishes full-length original articles, brief reports describing single studies, and articles detailing meta-analyses projects.

Scopus

Scopus remains one of the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature that, in its own words, allows users to discover “precise citation results, detailed researcher profiles, and insights that drive better decisions, actions and outcomes” and claims to deliver “more global content (50%-230% more depending on region) than the nearest competitor.”

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)

The DOAJ is an established, reputable indexing service for open access journals. The platform is free and open to anyone, and it is committed to ensuring quality content from its ever-growing community. The DOAJ prides itself on the following:

  • Reputation and prominence – It is one of the largest platforms in the world for open access journals; excellence is guaranteed.

  • Standards and best practice – Using the DOAJ’s basic criteria of inclusion, it holds publishers to a high standard, ensuring that the indexed journals deliver respected work.

  • Funding and compliance – Authors frequently need to publish in an open access journal that is indexed in the DOAJ in order to meet the requirements of the funders supporting their research. Our three OA journals now fulfill this requirement.

  • Discoverability and visibility – Due to the platform’s popularity, journals and the articles published in them are easier to find and search for online, helping improve citations and readership.

  • International coverage – The journals listed in the DOAJ come from around the world and a listing can help visibility worldwide.
