Hogrefe Publishing

Hogrefe Publishing is pleased to offer scientifically-based assessments, books, and journals.

The most familiar assessment we publish is the original Rorschach® Test — and our core publications include assessments for children/adolescents/adults in schools and mental health settings, and for organizations hiring or developing employees.

We are pleased to offer the IDS-2 (Intelligence and Development Scales® – 2nd Edition) to measure IQ, executive functions, and general development skills for students ages 5-20; the ESB (Early Sociocognitive Battery) for preschool children that assesses the risk of autism, and the FEEL-KJ-2 (Emotion Regulation Strategies Questionnaire) for assessing the risk of anxiety or depression in adolescents and young adults ages 9–20. We are currently in data collection with several assessments, including ATENTO (ADHD and Executive Functions Rating Scales), a new set of rating scales for executive functions and attention in children and adolescents aged 3–18 years and the SON-III, a nonverbal cognitive assessment administered entirely on a tablet for individuals aged 6–60 years.

We also have U.S. working population norms for comparisons when companies need a business-focused personality measure (BIP-6F-Second Edition), a dark triad of personality assessment (TOP) or an emotional processing scale focused on wellbeing in the workplace (EPS-W).

Our books are written to help psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals in their client work and when teaching students at the university level. Our authors are leaders in their fields, and we have partnered with highly-respected organizations (e.g. the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists) to provide books and learning opportunities for both practicing professionals and those in training. We publish books on topics such as positive psychology, trauma response, behavioral issues, and suicide prevention — and our award-winning Clinical Handbook of Psychotropic Drugs is an essential volume on the shelves of hundreds of psychiatrists, pharmacists, and counselors.

Hogrefe’s high-quality scientific journals in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, medicine and nursing include many that are published in collaboration with national and international scientific associations. Subscribers are provided with access to the corresponding full-text online and to back issues of the journal. Authors and editors are from around the globe – all with a focus on providing research and information under a strong ethical umbrella. In 2021, we reached a groundbreaking agreement with 116 scientific and research institutions on the Open Access transformation of 28 active titles, enabling scientists and authors to both "publish & read" Hogrefe's psychology, psychotherapy, and psychiatry journals.
