Firstly: thank you for continuing your work across so many key sectors. Your work is now more important than ever as you strive to help those who need it: from those seeking support for long-term mental health issues made worse by the current situation; parents concerned for their children’s development and education needs; employees seeking support and reassurance; and businesses needing to fill critical, key roles across different sectors. Assessment matters, and your work changes lives.
And while this all takes its toll on every single individual – personally, professionally, and financially – we want to do what we can to provide practitioners working in the clinical, educational and occupational fields with the tools they need to best support the mental health, wellbeing and other ongoing needs of their patients and clients.
To help, we have collated some information and resources from professional associations, governing bodies and across the Hogrefe Group that we hope will guide you through this unknown territory as you explore new ways to support those in need.
We understand that there could be the need for telepractice with respect to assessments – that is, continuing the assessment process even though in-person sessions are not possible – and we offer suggestions as to how this can best be handled in this current landscape.
The current global crisis presents psychologists and researchers with a unique opportunity and indeed, really an obligation, to study human behaviour, preferences and response patterns as we work towards understanding reactions and coping skills. During this time, Hogrefe is pleased to support these efforts by offering scientifically validated assessments to measure various parameters and enable rich comparisons of data. Find out more here.
