Assessment Consultant

Overview

Hogrefe Publishing is looking for a professional to join our team with a focus on helping psychologists and professionals with the administration, scoring, and interpretation of Hogrefe assessments. Working collaboratively with our marketing and publication teams, you will contact and work with schools and universities to showcase our products and encourage their participation in our data collection efforts and help them understand the value Hogrefe assessments can provide. You will be based in our Boston area office (Newburyport) and have an opportunity to work with us as we further our test adaptation plans for assessments in the U.S.

You will be:

  • Using your professional knowledge of school psychology and assessment to identify possible collaborative schools and districts to participate in research data collection.
  • Identifying and selling Hogrefe products when appropriate to address the problems that psychologists are trying to solve.
  • Using product knowledge beyond the basic features and benefits to help customers understand how to administer and interpret Hogrefe assessments.
  • Thinking strategically about Hogrefe assessments, and recommending products/ideas to consider for increasing our portfolio in educational, clinical, and occupational psychology.
  • Attending national and regional conferences and events to meet psychologists, gain market feedback, and generate new collaboration and sales opportunities.
  • Increasing your knowledge of market trends, industry news, and the competitive landscape for psychological assessments (particularly in the schools).
  • Working collaboratively with Marketing, Research and other internal business teams both in North America and in our offices in Europe and Brazil.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years as a school psychologist or similar occupation
  • Master’s degree required; PhD desirable
  • Expert knowledge of assessment practices in schools in the U.S. and test interpretation
  • Knowledge of test development process a plus
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Accuracy, detail, and quality assurance in all work
  • Collaborative skills with self-motivation to reach out to schools and districts for information, feedback and cooperation

Our new office space is in a refurbished shoe factory on the second floor with elevator access. The space contains adjustable standing desks and options for social distance. Our space is on the southwest corner with large windows for fresh air along with an HVAC system that is independent of others in the building and includes an LED purifier system. The building itself meets all Massachusetts and federal CDC guidelines with respect to hand sanitizing, increased disinfectant cleaning, etc. There is a small lounge area in our office with coffee, tea and bottled water and a building lounge on the first floor.

This position is based in Newburyport, with a combination of remote and office working for a flexible and balanced working environment.
