Overview

Hogrefe Publishing Corporation is looking for psychologists, educators, diagnosticians, and related professionals to join our team of experienced field examiners to help us complete data collection and standardization for our clinical and educational assessments prior to publication. Your role will be to recruit and test qualified participants and submit the data to Hogrefe Publishing Corporation for inclusion in the pilot studies, norming samples, or validity studies. As an examiner, you will receive training and support from Hogrefe staff in test administration and scoring according to each test’s specifications. In addition, you will be given guidance on how to identify qualified test candidates in your community.

Field Examiner Responsibilities

Recruit Qualified Children, Teens, and Adults

  • Raise awareness about research study opportunities within your personal and professional networks using Hogrefe’s digital and print materials.
  • Locate qualified candidates using inclusion/exclusion criteria to complete our research studies throughout the United States.
  • Submit profiles of qualified candidates to internal Hogrefe Publishing staff for consideration.

Administer Tests in Development 

  • Secure appropriate location for testing (i.e., your home or office, your participant’s home, a public library, or another quiet and private space).
  • Schedule testing sessions with approved participants.
  • Administer the test following the specific requirements for each assessment, which is outlined in training and support materials.
  • Submit data and return completed testing materials to Hogrefe Publishing. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in psychology, speech-language pathology, school counseling, special education, or related field. Currently licensed and retired professionals, or student practitioners (with proof of basic coursework in research, test administration, and practicum), are welcome to apply.
  • Access to a large pool of personal and professional contacts from which to recruit qualified candidates, or a willingness to network and generate potential contacts.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently. 
  • Exceptional integrity and a personal interest in improving access to academic and medical services through the development of high-quality assessments. 
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and willingness to use personal computer. 

Desired Experience

  • Extensive professional experience administering a variety of standardized assessments in schools, clinics, medical facilities, Early Intervention programs, and other relevant settings.
  • Previous participation in and familiarity with data collection projects with clinical assessment publishers.
