For book authors

Whether you are looking to publish your own unique work or to contribute to one of our established book series, you’ll find the information you need here.

We look forward to seeing your book proposal!

Hogrefe publishes books for professionals, clinicians, students, researchers, and scholars, in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, mental health, and medicine. We not only pride ourselves on the quality of our publications, in whichever medium or area: As one of the few remaining privately owned scientific and professional publishers around, we also pride ourselves on the good personal relations we maintain with authors, often for many years. Please note that we do not publish fiction, poetry, biographies, or autobiographies.

Guidelines and downloads

In this area you’ll find helpful tips on how to prepare and submit a successful book proposal, as well as on copyright and permission issues. Detailed guidance on preparing manuscripts for our book series Advances in Psychotherapy and our marketing questionnaire are in the linked PDFs.
